Biography of Derek Conyer

Derek Conyer is a phenomenal singer and songwriter. He grew up in a gospel atmosphere with his mother singing and his father preaching. This is were he learned to feel and express the musical talent he was blessed with.
He is fastly becoming synonymous for creating something new and timeless.He's not only a vocalist, but also writes and produces his own and other artists material (everything from some of the most heartfelt ballads to grooves that makes you move). Derek has made his biggest impact in the House/Dance-genre with an array of releases.

Some of the worlds biggest Dj's are spinning his songs regularly. His first release was recorded in Stockholm Sweden where he featured on a track called "Natural High" in 1999. Being that there were only two vocal tracks on the Lp, Derek shared honors with house legend Kenny Bobien. Since that first release on Christian Falk's Swedish Open (an upbeat jazzy house Lp wich included some of swedens top musician like Esbjörn Svensson, David Nyström and Jonas Kulhammar), Derek's name and voice can be heard in clubs all over the world.
Derek admits that he did'nt know that much about house back in 1999. "I was more into Gospel", he says. That changed during his stay in Paris, where he met Olivier Zahm. 

"You would sound great on a House track" Olivier told him. Here is where the journey into the house world really begins for Derek.
He later released tracks on Laoded/Skint(Uk),MMF(Uk), Dust Traxx(chi), Subverssive(UK), Yoshitoshi/Deep Dish(US), Strickly Rythm(US) and Stereo Productions from Spain. Chus & Ceballos, the tribal genious duo from Madrid, Spain remixed two tracks Derek featured on. The first was "Can't give Up" - released on Moody Records(chi) -(Americas Favorite dj Bad Boy Bills Label) - under the Denver marky and later remixed by Warren K.
The second of the two remixes was "Haunting Me" - one of his biggest track to date in House/Dance music. With the likes of dj legend Daniel Teneglia calling "Haunting Me" the summer anthem in Miami & Ibiza, the track quickly became and still is a Hot Item.

Showing support were top DJ's such as Eric Morillo, Danny Howells, Roger Sanchez etc.. calling the track a “house classic".."one the top tracks of year 2002". Haunting Me was also picked as a Top tune in International DJ Magazine which speakes of Dereks spinechilling vocals.

He is driven to be successfull an has many coals in the Fire. Its only a matter of time before the world hears this sensational artist. Upon listening to his material one sees the extensive multitalented styles of Dereks pure artistic writing ability.
He later worked again with Chus & Ceballos, as they flew him to Madrid to get another taste. It proved to be yet another fantastic collaboration. "Echoes From Doruma" and the latest floorfiller "Wrong About Me" has been heard on dance floors around the world.

This time they provided the production for both tracks which were released on Stereo Production and later remixed by Lithauanian top Dj David Storm. It wasn't untill he went to the Winter Music Conference in Miami 2003, that he realized some of todays biggest Dj's where feeling his vibes and that people all over the world were listening to his songs. He has come along way since then with releases on some of todays biggest house labels and has appeared on over 60 compilations.
