Cuba Computers feat. Derek Conyer

The Shinichi record machine is at full capacity releasing another vocal monster. Cuba Computers deliver a beautiful & soulful house number. They provide us the original, and a funkier remix under their Laid moniker. Chus & Ceballos were charged with the remixes and deliver an amazing tribal interpretation. In the form of a vocal and a dub, the mixes keep the soulful touch of the original, but add their signature Iberican sound. Danny Tenaglia has been hammering this since Miami and has just charted it as his current favorite in the Pacha magazine! Tom Stephan has been playing it on his Kiss 100 show. Danny howells went mad for it after a visit to our office. Eric Morillo called us up asking for a copy, Satoshi Tomiie and Barry Gilbey liked it so much they it a 6 out of 5, and the list goes on. It’s also featured on Trendroid’s recent “Transport 6” compilation. The most sought after Shinichi release to date is finally here!
Yoshitoshi’s sub label Shinichi has gone from strength to strength in recent months... Their latest release comes from Cuba Computers with the track ‘Haunting Me’ which has already been supported by the likes of Danny Howells and Tenaglia and Eric Morillo. Cuba Computers provide two remixes whilst the excellent men from Stereo Productions out of Spain...,Chus & Ceballos add some flavour on the remix disc... Chus and Ceballos add some of their drums and rhythms to the track, retaining all the main elements of the original, but slipping in some harmonies and melodies amongst the arrangements, giving their mixes a more upbeat feel. Both are very similar in style, only slightly varying in direction, but  provide some nice alternative mixes for the dancefloor, with the Dubby Mix being my personal favourite of the two..
The Original Mix brings together a sense of warmth thanks to a deep and meaningful bassline, which holds together the subtle beat arrangement which just fall softly over the sounds being cratfed within the core of the track, as some heartfelt sounds emerge from within paving the way for Derek Conyer’s dreamy, enchanting vox to sift through, Spine chillin stuff. What defines House music?

House Music: The original electronic incarnation from disco. House typically runs around 120 beats per minute (BPM) and uses a 4/4 time sequence and an eight bar repeating cycle. The beat is maintained by a heavy kick drum that alternates in a 1-3 pattern with a high hat accent. Like its disco roots, house often feature vocal choruses, real instrumentation, and a more traditional song structure. In my opinon house music is more spititual and a soulful...Ex. My late fav (Cuba Computers feat. Derek Conyer – Haunting Me..such a powerfull song..just touches my heart everytime I hear it in the club) I’m from NYC.. and I’m a big fan of house music... I used to listen to trance when I started being interested in electronic music but then eventually trance became too cheesy for me..Cheesy meaning all the songs sounded the same too me...Its like there is a formula now to make a good trance song..you put uplifting melody and throw in a few vocals and you got urself another cheesy trance song. I’m not saying that house is much better..its just just trance is more popular in Europe, I can’t speak for the whole America but I can say that here in New York house music is what you will hear in the clubs. Cuba Computers feat. Derek Conyer – Haunting Me

This is the release that will push the shinichi label further into the spotlight. Listed by the “djs dj” Danny Tenaglia as his summer anthem. “Haunting Me” is a truly great record. The original mix is a groovy vocal tune which is something very, very specail in the masses of average deep house tunes today. Everyone from garage to techno djs will play a mix of this tune.
Chus & Ceballos “Iberican” mixes are included also and I’d have to rate them as the best production the pair have done yet. Theirs are tribal tracks with great drium loops and percussion, Something Chus & Cebalos have become well known for in 2002. Finally there is apretty gothic sounding drum track remix by Cuba Computer under their Laid moniker. According to the press release Eric Morillo and Danny Howells amongst others have been caning this track since the Miami Winter Conference this year.
All in all I’ll say this is one of the top records of the year.

Shinichi

Cuba Computers team up with Derek Conyer whose soulful vocals appear in this impressive and gracious doublpack. With the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Danny Howells and Eric Morillo going crazy over its class, Shinichi have sure hit the spot once more. The original is a delicious vocal number with beautiful strings while the seriously groovy beat makes you get down. Under their Laid moniker, we see it go funky but keeping it on the tougher edge.
Chus & Ceballos lineup to put their spin on things with their Iberican vocal and dub mixes. The tribal twist these guys produce here is fabulous. The vocal mix goes large into a big houser s the vocal swirls around its filted environment.
